Great British Cheddar

It's What Makes Britain Great!

Did you know....

  • Cheddar Cheese originates from the County of Somerset in England as far back as the 12th Century and there are records from the King of England at that time declaring cheddar to be the "Best in Britain”!

  • Cheddar takes it's name from the caves in the Somerset village of Cheddar that were used to store and mature the cheese because of their constant temperature and humidity.

  • It also gave it's name to the unique process of 'cheddaring', whereby slabs of curd are turned and piled on top of each other to drain away the whey and create the cheese we all know and love!

  • Barber's Cheddar is made by the 6th generation of the Barber family, the oldest cheese-makers in the UK, who still use traditional techniques to create a mouth-watering Vintage Reserve Farmhouse Cheddar.

  • Perfect with a glass of crisp Sauvignon Blanc or a traditional English ale, Barber's 1833 Vintage Reserve is a fabulous addition to any cheese board and adds wonderful flavours to your cooking.

  • Available at Harris Farm Markets across Sydney and numerous local delis all over Australia. For a stockist in your area, please get in touch using the contact form.
